This plate has Patent dates from Oct. 1902 until July 1908. I believe that they are correct for 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915 cars. I have seen cars from this era have this type of plate and some with other types. Apparently there were several styles of plates used, perhaps one factor was the mounting location with the space available dictating the size and shape of the plate.
